My parents’ homeowner’s association web site was being managed and maintained by one person in their neighborhood who was becoming unresponsive and the site needed an update. So, being good parents, and after noticing that I maintained my neighborhood association web site, they asked if I would build one for them. They gave my name to their neighborhood president who hired me to set one up. After some initial conversations I set up a WordPress site for them and transferred much of their content to the new site with a new look.
Since then, they have been able to use online tutorials to learn how to use WordPress and ask me for minimal guidance to keep their site up to date and looking good.
This is the power of not just WordPress, but any CMS (Content Management System), an organization should not have to rely on just one person to maintain their web site.
