I’ve always been looking for a free and hosted database which I can use to do ad-hoc SQL queries for practice, learning as well as for random projects at work. So when I heard of a chrome extension which does not need a database I was intrigued. The extension is SQAnything with overview/instructions available and it’s made by Seekwell which looks like they sell a commercial version as well. The cool part is that the extension can query any local or web based csv or excel file, tables on a web page or Google Sheet and save the results to a google sheet. I haven’t had a chance to really use the extension yet so I’m not sure of it’s limitations but I’m hoping it will come in handy when the data is not already in a relational database or it gets updated on a regular basis.
