Skills Not Taught in School

When I was in middle school there was a “home economics” block of classes which everyone was forced to take: sewing, metal shop, wood shop, drafting, and a few others.  Granted that was a long time ago but I’m hoping that the home economics track has changed with the times.  When reading this article “Top 10 Skills We Wish Were Taught in School, But Usually Aren’t” it solidifies my idea that it should be updated, if it has not already, and include a few of the items on the list.

For example, if I had learned speed reading in middle school, I probably would have been more successful in school because it would have been easier to read my textbooks.
