Overcoming Resistance to Change

“The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change -”
― Heraclitus

Many people don’t like change, but if they have a voice in the change, they will be “bought in” and will be more accepting. This is important information for managers, but also for employees who find themselves trying to deal with change that they have no control over. If they find something, possibly unnoticeable, which will allow them to make the change their own, hopefully they can accept it easier.

This is evident when an employee is forced to switch offices, typically employees have a strong desire to re-arrange their new office so they can “make it their own”.
